To provide a key device capable of improving a security level.
When installing a normal mechanical key 80 in a key body 50, since a magnet 76 approaches a magnetic proximity switch 69, the magnetic proximity switch 69 is turned on. A microcomputer generates an ID code signal attached with a normal key installing state code, when the magnetic proximity switch 69 is turned on. While, when the normal mechanical key 80 is not installed in the key body 50, since the magnet 76 does not approach the magnetic proximity switch 69, the magnetic proximity switch 69 is turned off. The microcomputer generates the ID code signal attached with a normal key uninstalled state code, when the magnetic proximity switch 69 is turned off. These ID code signals are transmitted from a transmission antenna.
