Abstract:

PURPOSE: To insert the knob door even from either side into a door opening for temporary engagement before permanent mounting, to translate a turn bar by using household tools to release a cylinder lock for substitution without removing a lock set from the door and to assemble the turn bar and the cylinder lock without interfering normal door set operation.

CONSTITUTION: The knob door has a turn button installed into a sleeve and an external cylinder lock and has two subassemblies arranged on both sides of the door, and the button and the lock are connected mutually by a turn bar. These subassemblies are retained temporarily by mutually engaging a grooved rigid projection 57 and a flexible spring projection 52 at the inner ends of each housing 22, 38 inserted into the mounting hole of the door elastically. The temporary retaining is continued until permanent securing engagement to the door of the two subassemblies using clamps are also conducted to the two subassemblies.
