To seek help by providing a function as a whistle.
The main body 2 of a key is formed to have a shaft-like body with a circular section. A hollow part 3 is formed to have a nearly tubular shape at the front end 2a side. The front end is opened to form a whistling mouth piece. A hole 5 communicating with the hollow part 3 is bored at the side face of the front end 2a side of the key main body 2 to constitute a whistle 6 at the front end 2a of the key main body 2. The whistle 6 generates sounds by blowing a whistle through the mouth piece 4 at the front end of the main body 2 of the key 1. The frequency zone of the generated sound of the whistle is set to coincide with the audible frequency zone of human beings and dogs. Since the key has a locking or unlocking function for a main entrance of a residence or the like, a user of the key 1 always carries it and when the user meets with an unexpected accident, the user can use the function of the whistle attached to the key 1. Accordingly, the user can seek somebody's help.
