Abstract:

PURPOSE: To set or inhibit the repeat mode of an optional key by monitoring the interruption interval from acquiring of the make code of an optional key and till acquiring of the break code of the key by an OS.

CONSTITUTION: A keyboard 12 makes a computer system main body recognize a key interruption through a 2nd CPU (keyboard interruption controller) 13 based on a program of the keyboard 12. The OS of the system main body monitors the interruption interval from acquiring of the make code till acquiring of the break code of an optional key. It is presumed that a user does not release a key to which a repeat mode is designated by the OS even when a fixed time passed after the key is pushed, that is, a make code is received by the OS. In other words, the break code of the key is not received by the OS owing to a key interruption. Under such conditions, the timer interruption routine starts at each fixed time.
