To provide a kiln for ceramic art, the overall size of which can be reduced and the required installation space for which is comparatively small and in which a uniform firing effect on the whole article to be fired can be brought about and which is capable of maintaining a good product yield.

This kiln 10 is provided with a closed kiln body 12 having a front wall 20 fitted with a flame-thrower 40, a partition wall 24 by which thrown flame from the flame-thrower 40 is received, a communication passage 36 placed on the backside of the partition wall 24; a flue 14 erected so as to be communicated with the communication passage 36 of the body 12, a firing chamber 26 which is formed as an intermediate section between the front wall 20 and the partition wall 24 and provided with a suction port 56 formed in the vicinity of the front wall 20, and at least one recycle guide passage 38 which extends through the partition wall 24 and is used for guiding the flame to the communication passage 36. Thus, by using the recycle guide passage 38, uniform distribution of the flame flow and reduction in kiln size can be attained.
