The kitchen garbage disposer 1 is provided with a drying chamber 19 constituted in a heat-insulating box 18; a drying tank 4 disposed in the chamber 19 in a manner forming a clearance from the chamber and holding kitchen garbage; an agitator 38 that agitates the kitchen garbage held in the tank 4; a drying chamber heater 24 for heating the air in the drying chamber; a cross-flow fan 23 for recirculating the air in the chamber 19; an air supply means for introducing external air into the chamber 19; and an air discharging means for discharging the air from the chamber 19. The kitchen garbage held in the tank 4 is agitated by the agitator 38, and the air heated by the heater 24 is passed through the periphery of the tank 4 by means of the cross-flow fan 23, and part of the recirculated air is introduced into the tank 4.
