PURPOSE: To form a smooth surface blade on household and business use knife, by setting a kitchen knife sharpener so that it can provide uniform good grinding application over the entire length of the blade of the knife and a gradient groove is prevented from being formed on a ground surface of the blade.

CONSTITUTION: A grinding device 2 has a bracket 3, a single part, and this bracket 3 can be mounted in a housing 1 from downside. The bracket 3 has a fundamental plate 5, this fundamental plate 5 has two supporting arms 6, 7, and the two supporting arms 6, 7 are used for supporting grinding wheels 8, 9. An intermediate shaft center of the bracket 3 coincides with an intermediate shaft center of the housing 1, both grinding wheels 8, 9 extend in a partially facing condition, has a facing distance, and reach an indentation 19 of the housing 1 via clearances 17, 18 of a housing wall 16. Because the grinding wheels 8, 9 have a partial overlap 20, a passage is formed between peripheral surfaces 21, 22, and a honing angle α varies inwards in no step.
