Abstract:
PURPOSE: To feed f bar to a main spindle without penetrating the inner part of the main spindle.
CONSTITUTION: A bar 40 is supported in a V-groove 23 in the state of its long size. The first main spindle 6 (chuck 6a) is turned to the V-groove 23 side by rotating the first headstock 5. The bar 40 is fed to the first main spindle 6 in a way of pushing and moving it by a bar feeding arm 25. The bar 40 is cut by a cutter 30 so that works 40a are cut off, after the tip part of the bar 40 is held by the chuck 6a. The first main spindle 6 and the work 40a are turned to the second spindle 16 side by rotating the first headstock 5, and first process machining of the work 40a is carried out. The second process machining (back face working) of the work 40a is carried out by handing the work 40a from the first main spindle 6 to the second main spindle 16. Thus the large diameter bar 40 can be machined and a black bar can be machined too. Machining by rotating the main spindle 6, 16 at high speed is possible. Machining time on the bar 40 can be shortened.
