To provide a kneading and crushing apparatus capable of providing good improved soil in which small pieces of a viscous material composed of e.g. a moisture-containing sludge and an improver are mixed uniformly in the form of grains.
The kneading and crushing apparatus has: a crushing and kneading chamber 1 which is equipped with a conveyer 1a, a kneading and crushing mechanism 1b rotating a kneading and crushing blade 1bb through a rotation shaft driving mechanism 1bc in the direction opposite to the carrying direction of the conveyer 1a, a pair of side walls 1c and 1c, an upstream wall 1d and a ceiling material 1e having a charge inlet 1ea opening in the upstream; and an improver-supplying spraying mechanism 2 which is arranged below a discharge outlet 2aa of a screw feeder 2a, is cylindrical and disperses an improver in mist form from an opened spraying outlet 2ba into the crushing and kneading chamber 1 toward a viscous material in the form of small pieces charged from a charge inlet 1ea by rotating, at high speeds, a disk 2c arranged below a spraying cylinder 2b having the opened spraying outlet 2ba in a side surface, with a slight clearance between the spraying cylinder 2b and the disk 2c, and having two or more convex parts in the upper surface, by means of a disk driving mechanism 2d.
