To provide a kneader which has a casing, in which a material to be kneaded is put, and a kneading rotor to be rotated in the casing and in which the material to be kneaded hardly intrudes into a gap between the casing and the end face of the rotor, the further intrusion of the material to be kneaded into the shaft center side of the rotor can be prevented even if the material to be kneaded intrudes into the gap for some reason or another and the material to be kneaded can also be prevented from leaking to the outside of the kneader.
The kneader having the casing, in which the material to be kneaded is put, and the kneading rotor to be rotated in the casing is characterized in that at least one difference in level is arranged on the end face of the rotor or the opposed surface of the casing to the end face of the rotor and a slop is arranged which rises gradually from the lower part of the difference in level and reaches the top of the difference in level. Therefore, the material which is to be kneaded and intrudes into the gap between the casing and the end face of the rotor can be caught by the part of difference in level, guided to the peripheral direction by the rotation of the rotor and discharged from the gap.
