PURPOSE: To knit a cut-in pocket integrally with a main knit fabric part by using a flat knitting machine.

CONSTITUTION: A front side part (4a) of a pocket upper edge, having a prescribed length and comprising a thick knitted design such as a rib stitch and having the knitting terminal part treated by welt seaming is formed in a joining site of a pocket bag part (3a) to a main knit fabric part (1). The rear side part (4b) of the pocket upper edge comprising the same knitted design or the same system as that of the main knit fabric part is connectedly provided continuously to the pocket bag part (3b) on the side opposite to the joining site. Both ends of the pocket upper edge are joined to the main knit fabric part.
