Title:
KNIT OR WOVEN FABRIC HAVING LITTLE WET FEELING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03876
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a knit or woven fabric having a specific surfacewetting characteristic and giving little wet feeling to the skin even in profusely perspired state by forming a water-repellent part on a surface of a knit or woven fabric composed of a fiber capable of absorbing water in the fiber and/or diffusing water on the fiber surface.

CONSTITUTION: A water-repellent liquid is applied to one surface of a knit or woven fabric made of a fiber capable of absorbing water and/or diffusing water on the fiber surface (preferably a hydrophilic fiber such as cotton or scaled wool) in a state to leave the untreated part in the form of a lattice (the line width is 0.1-0.5mm and the interval is 0.8-2.7mm), parallel lines (the line width is 0.2-0.6mm and the interval is 0.6-2.5mm) or a circle, etc. The average brightness of the waterrepellent surface A is ≥200 (representing the amount and distribution of attached water impregnating into a hydrophobic part and free from the residual absorbed water on the waterrepellent surface). Water is absorbed by the hydrophilic part B of the obtained knit or woven fabric even in profusely perspired state and diffused to an intermediate layer and a surface layer. There is no residual water on the hydrophobic part on the reverse side of the fabric contacting with the skin and, accordingly, the fabric is free from wet feeling to the skin.
