Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform proper control of the operation state of an internal combustion engine by distinguishing a knock occurring cylinder from a pseudo knock occurring cylinder and accurately deciding the presence of the occurrence of knock.
SOLUTION: Comparison decision is executed by using the knock detecting frequency and the standard deviation value of each cylinder group in a knock occurring state. As a result, for example, when (Swmax/Sbmin) is increased to a value outside a given range, it is decided that an abnormal pseudo knock occurring period different from a knock occurring period occurs. Thereby, knock feedback control made on a W cylinder group to which pseudo knock easily occurs is prohibited. Knock feedback control is executed on a B cylinder group to which pseudo knock hardly occurs, i.e., where the presence of the occurrence of knock is accurately decided, and the operation state of an internal combustion engine is properly controlled.
