Title:
KNOCKDOWN CRANK SHAFT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003314529
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent a fatigue failure due to the fretting abrasion of a crank pin inserted under pressure into a pin hole formed on a crank web.

A knockdown crank shaft is assembled by inserting under pressure the crank pin into the pin hole formed on the crank web. In the crank pin, a shot-peening is applied to outer peripheral surfaces near both sides of a boundary between the inserted part of the crank pin inserted into the pin hole and a part of the crank pin which is not inserted into the pin hole and exposed from the pin hole connected to the inserted part through the boundary. A molybdenum disulfide film layer is formed on the outer peripheral surfaces.
