Abstract:
To provide a knocking sensor improved in detection output.SOLUTION: A knocking sensor 1A comprises: a main metal fitting 9 having a cylindrical part 13 and a flange part 15 located at one end side of the cylindrical part and protruding toward the outside in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical part; an annular weight 19 fitted to the outer periphery of the cylindrical part and having a top surface 19a on the opposite side to the side facing the flange part; an annular piezoelectric element 17 fitted to the outer periphery of the cylindrical part and sandwiched between the flange part and the weight; and an insulating body 25 interposed between the flange part and the piezoelectric element. On the outer periphery of the cylindrical part, a projecting portion 13p is provided, which projects from an inner surface of the cylindrical part to the outside in the circumferential direction while plastically deforming, and contacts with the top surface of the weight directly or through another member 29 to lock the weight. The cylindrical part has an extention portion R1 extending in an axial direction O between the projecting portion and the flange part. The extention portion is formed having a maximum thickness portion W1 having the maximum thickness and a thin portion W2 having thinner thickness than the maximum thickness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
