Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the substantially pure 1:1 L-form transition metal methionine complex.
CONSTITUTION: The substantially pure 1:1 L-form transition metal methionine complex is expressed by general formula: [CH3SCH2CH2CH(NH2)COOM]wX (M is a metal selected from zinc, chromium, manganese and iron; X is an anion; (w) is an integer to balance the charge of an anion X) and a method for preparing the complex is provided. The complex is obtained by reacting it with pure L-form methionine. Dosages of this salt complex can be reduced by one-half the amount used in racemic mixture and the bioavailability of this salt complex is the same as that of the racemic mixture.
