Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an led lamp unit and a lamp device for a vehicle that can prevent erroneous detection of a failure while contributing to energy saving.SOLUTION: An LED lamp unit 20a has a booster 30 which consumes dummy current Ib equal to or more than the difference between threshold current and LED current Ia of a light emission diode 23 as lamp current IL, boosts an input voltage Vi and outputs an output voltage Vo. Accordingly, the lamp current IL is not smaller than the threshold current even when the LED lamp unit 20a having the light emission diode 23 which is less than threshold current preset to output failure information of a filament bulb is connected to a lamp device 10 for a vehicle instead of the filament bulb. Energy based on the dummy current Ib which is made to oddly flow for the LED current Ia is not merely consumed as heat, but is used and output to boost the output voltage Vo. Accordingly, an erroneous detection of a failure by a failure detector 13 can be prevented while contributing to the energy saving.
