PURPOSE: To make it possible to know the number of issued labels accurately, by providing a nonvolatile integration counter, which counts the number of occurrences of printing instruction signals.

CONSTITUTION: Printing instruction signals are supplied to an integration counter 14, and the number of occurrence of the printing instruction signals, namely, the number of issued labels, is counted. The counting is nonvolatile, and the counted values are not erased or changed even through power supply is stopped or noises and the like are generated. Furthermore, even through setting buttons of setting part 6 provided at the outside of a label printer and other switches are operated, the counted values cannot be changed or erased. The counted values are displayed on a display part 8 by operating a calling key 16. In this way, the number of issued labels can be accurately known.
