To enable automatic reading of labels with reliability for identification, production control and replenishing plan of tires by using such labels that information can be written in the label with laser light and the label has a base layer comprising a rubber compsn. of a light color which can be vulcanized together with a tire.
This label has a protective coating film 1 such as polyester, and a base layer 2 the all side faces of which are substantially covered with a wall layer 3. Further the label has a coating film 4 to make sure that the label can be adhered to a raw tire. The coating film 4 is covered with a release film 5. In this method, the base layer 2 consists of a pale-colored rubber compsn. capable of being written with laser light and being vulcanized with the tire. The base layer 2 contains an additive which changes its color by irradiation of laser light. The obtd. label is stuck to a raw tire and subjected together with the tire to the succeeding process to obtain a mark of high contrast on the label.
