Abstract:
In order in the event of an accident to prevent the escape of contaminated gases from the reactor building (1) of a nuclear electric power station into the turbine building (2) along a shaft (3), provision is made for a labyrinth seal (4) for seal fluid. The seal chamber (5) thereof is fed with the gaseous seal fluid from a source (9) via the feedline (7) and a pressure governor (8). This takes place only in the event of an accident, when a valve (10) which is situated in the feedline (7) is opened by the atmospheric pressure upon a rise in the pressure in the reactor building (1).
