Abstract:

To provide a new lactone quinone derivative, and to provide a highly sensitive electrophotographic photoreceptor using the same.

The lactone quinone derivative is represented by general formula(I)[ wherein, R1 and R2 are each H, a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl, (1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl-substituted) aryl, 6-12C aralkyl, 3-10C cycloalkyl or 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkoxy; and X1 and X2 are each a halogen atom ]. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is such that a photosensitive layer essentially comprising an electron transporter, a charge generator and a binder resin is provided on a conductive substrate, wherein the lactone quinone derivative is used as the electron transporter.
