Abstract:
To provide a ladder frame of an internal combustion engine which is suppressed in a fall of a remaining part from a crank cap while securing a thickness of the crank cap under a design condition.SOLUTION: A ladder frame of an internal combustion engine comprises: first and second sidewalls; a metal-made crank cap 20; and first and second joining parts 31, 32 which join the crank cap to the first and second sidewalls, and are formed of metal materials which are lower than the crank cap in rigidity. The crank cap has a circular center part 21, and first and second side parts 24, 25 located in a position in which they sandwich the center part, and the first and second side parts are joined to the first and second sidewalls by the first and second joining parts. A remaining part 33 which is non-continuous from the first and second joining parts, and formed of a material which is the same as those of the first and second joining parts is joined to the recess 23. Thicknesses of the first and second side parts are the same as a thickness of the center part, and a protrusion 23a for suppressing a fall of the remaining part from the recess is formed at the recess.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
