The identification laminate 10 comprises the birefringent layer 12 containing a first birefringent portion 12a which faces a reflecting layer 13b and a part of the front surface of the reflecting layer 13b and a second birefringent portion 12b which faces the other part of the front surface of the reflecting layer 13b and has a different direction of a phase delaying axis from the first birefringent portion 12a, and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 19 interposed between the reflecting layer 13b and the birefringent layer 12. The first and the second birefringent portions 12a, 12b are respectively within the range of retardation of 3/32 to 5/32 when the wavelength is 550 nm.
