To provide a method of cutting a laminate swelling at its end into an accurate dimension without making a large cutting burr, and also to provide a cutting device suitable for that cutting method.

In the end cutting method for cutting the laminate 3 with a cutting blade 2 while holding the laminate with press plates 5 from the top and bottom on both sides of a line on which the cutting blade 2 passes, the press plates 5 are shaped such that they have a groove-like space 6 on their pressing surface, of which the press plate 5 on the end side of the cutting blade 2 holds the laminate 3 where the press plate 5 abuts on the laminate 3 with its side end residing in the groove-like space 6 of the press plate 5 and the press plate 5 on the side opposite the end side holds the laminate 3 as a whole. A first end portion of the laminate 3 is cut, then the cutting blade 2 and the press plates 5 are moved in parallel, to a second end portion opposite the first end portion, where the second end portion is cut in the same way as the first end portion.
