Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a laminate type org. nonlinear optical crystal with a patterned layer by setting a patterned mask on the crystal growth surface of a single crystal layer and forming an arbitrary single crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:A patterned mask 6 is set on the crystal growth surface of a single crystal layer 3 and an arbitrary single crystal layer is formed. The layer 3 is patternwise grown and a patterned layer 4 is formed. Other org. crystal 5 having no symmetry with respect to the center is then laminated on the layer 4 to obtain a laminate type org. nonlinear optical crystal with a patterned layer having an arbitrary shape. The patterned layer is formed as a three-dimensional nonlinear optical waveguide, a grating coupler, etc., suitable for the production of various secondary nonlinear optical elements.
