Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate size control and improve productivity by winding a continuous belt-like metal plate into multiple layers and fixing their ends in producing a laminated metal belt for a stepless speed changer for car or for general power transmission. CONSTITUTION:A laminated metal belt 10 is made by winding a continuous belt- like thin metal plate into multiple layers. This metal plate 11 is made of stainless steel with a thickness of about 0.1-0.2mm., for example, and about 10-18 layers are wound, for example. One end 12 of the belt-like metal plate 11 is fixed on the inner periphery of the metal plate 11, and the other end 13 is fixed on the outer periphery of the metal plate 11. Welding or spot welding via laser or electron beam, for example, is applied as a means to fix the said ends 12, 13. Furthermore, lugs or steps generated at the ends 12, 13 are preferably corrected into a flat shape via an appropriate method such as rolling or others.
