Title:
LAMINATED TYPE ALLOY MAGNETIC HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59152518
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent sticking of abrasive powder near the head gap and to assure stably a magnetic recording and reproducing characteristic over a long time by providing a nonmagnetic ceramic on the sliding surface of a magnetic head on the upper stream side of the gap.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic tape 9 slides on the sliding surface 23a of the 1st nonmagnetic ceramic holder 21c on the uppermost stream in the sliding direction on the sliding surface 23 of a magnetic head 20 and therefore the abrasive grains of the ceramics are produced on wearing of the surface 23a. The abrasive grains of the ceramics move toward the down stream side in the sliding direction of the magnetic tape according to the movement of the magnetic tape 9 while said grains are mixed with the abrasive powder produced by wearing the tape 9. The mixed abrasive powder is also mixed with the abrasive powder produced on the sliding surface 25a as said surfaces slides with the tape 9 and said powder moves toward the down stream side in the sliding direction on the surface 23. Such ceramic abrasive grains adheres extremely hardly on the magnetic alloy and therefore even if the abrasive powder produced from the tape 9 and the core 25 is going to adhere on the sliding surface of the core, the adhesion is considerably hampered by the abrasive grains of the ceramics.
