PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a vortex in a pressure generation chamber while simply excluding air bubbles in the pressure generation chamber by ejecting the ink of a common ink chamber at high speed from a passage restricting orifice to allow the same to flow through the relatively long first communication hole provided between the common ink chamber and the pressure generation chamber in a horizontal direction and converting the ink stream to laminar flow in this process to allow the same to flow in the pressure generation chamber.
CONSTITUTION: An elastic plate 2 having a piezoelectric vibration plate 3 on its surface, a pressure generation chamber forming member 7 forming a pressure generation chamber 4, a lid member 8 equipped with the first and second communication holes 9, 10 communicating with both end parts of the pressure generation chamber 4, a passage restricting plate 11 having a passage resticting hole 12 for imparting a passage resistance to the ink supply passage communicating with the chamber 4, a common ink chamber forming plate 18 equipped with a common ink chamber 19 communicating with the pressure generation chamber 4 through the passage restricting hole 12 and a nozzle plate 23 equipped with the nozzle orifices 24 connected to the chamber 4 are successively laminated to be integrally molded. The communication hole 10 is formed so that one end thereof is opposed to one end of the pressure generation chamber 4 and the other end thereof is positioned outside the pressure generation chamber 4.
