Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cushion a lamp against shock and vibration by constituting a connector fixed to the respective ends of a discharge lamp out of a resilient electric insulating boot and an electric conductor connected to a contact point pin in the resilient boot. SOLUTION: A recess 62 to receive a connector 26 is formed on a surface 60 of a lamp housing 16. The connector 26 contains an electric insulating boot 90, an electric terminal 92 and an electrical conductor 30. The electric terminal 92 and the electrical conductor 30 constitute an electric conductor to supply electric energy to a neon lamp 12. A cylindrical lamp receiving boot part 94 has a press-fitting seal 84 of the neon lamp 12 and a cavity 98 to receive a contact point pin 86. A seal is reliably set between the lamp 12 and the boot 90 by resilience of the boot 90 and an internal shape of the cavity 98. The lamp receiving boot part 94 is pressed and held in the recess 62 by a rib 76 of a lens 22. Therefore, an electric connecting part is maintained in a dry condition even under a high humidity condition and even under an easily dewing condition.
