Abstract:
To provide a lamp for improvement of luminance and efficiency, and a backlight unit using the same.
The lamp is provided with a transparent tube with discharge gas sealed in, a phosphor body formed in the transparent tube at a light-emitting part emitting light, and an electrode fitted at each side of a glass tube. A cross section of the transparent tube at the light-emitting part and that at an electrode part equipped the electrode are different from each other, that at the light-emitting part being elliptic or rectangular.
