To provide techniques to manufacture a lamp base at low cost, in which an electric bulb which uses a normal-type screw base has a base comprising a conductive eyelet portion and two conductive screw portions that are spaced away from each other and combined with each other by a glass insulator, where such a base is usually manufactured on an automatic apparatus which uses a glass heating furnace for forming the insulation and connecting each conductive part, and the base occupies a large part of a total cost in which cost of heating and melting of the glass, cost for maintaining the glass heating furnace contribute to the cost of the base.

The lamp base according to the present invention is formed of an insulation material for the base for a luminous electric lamp comprising a body which is formed of a thermoplastic material and is electrically insulated, a first surface, a second surface spaced away from the first surface, and a sidewall which separates the first surface from the second surface.
