To provide a lamp body for a vehicular lighting tool made of a new material in place of PP which can be heat welded to a lens made of PC.
The lamp body 10 for a vehicular lighting tool is structured with a PC/PTT alloy material having 80 to 50 wt.% of polycarbonate resin (hereinafter called PC) and 20 to 50 wt.% of polytrimethylene terephthalate resin (hereinafter called PTT) as main ingredients with 5 to 10 wt.% of a filler added to a total weight of PC and PTT. The lamp body 10 structured with the PC/PTT alloy material can be heat welded to the PC-made lens 12 and has heat resistance, chemical resistance and flexural rigidity of a similar level as one made of PP, so that the lens 12 and the lamp body 10 can be jointed for integration with a heat welding method, which solves various problems accompanying the conventional hot-melt process.
