To provide a lamp device which can make it hard to leak outside the explosive sound of a discharge lamp and can improve cooling effect of a concave reflecting mirror.
The lamp device comprises a discharge lamp 1, the concave reflecting mirror 2 inside of which the discharge lamp 1 is arranged, an inner housing 3 of enclosed structure which covers and holds the concave reflecting mirror 2, an outer housing 4 of non-enclosed structure which covers the inner housing 3 and has an outside air inlet port 42 arranged on the opening side of the concave reflecting mirror 2 and an exhaust port 43 arranged on the bottom side of the concave reflecting mirror 2, a first fan 5 which is arranged in the inner housing 3 and generates air stream in the inner housing 3, and a second fan 6 which is arranged at the exhaust port 43 and exhausts the outside air taken into the outer housing 4 from the outside air inlet port 42 from the exhaust port 43.
