Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve characteristics of a lamp by forming a lens by use of a specified thermoplastic polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A vehicle lamp is formed from a thermoplastic polymer containing glutarimide unit, which polymer contains 60%-95% of glutarimide structural unit. The quantity of amide segment in the polymer is less than 2%, and the content of iron in the polymer is less than 20ppm. The lamp lens desirably has a YI value measured by a colorimeter less than 3 and a whole beam transmission factor measured by an integrating sphere heiz meter of 87% or more. The lamp lens is formed by injection-molding the thermoplastic resin, and a cross-linked hardening resin film 3 is formed on the surface of a lens group 1.
