To provide a projector type lamp unit using a light emitting element as a light source forming a light distribution pattern for a high beam with excellent distant visibility.
A mirror member 18 having an upward reflecting surface 18a reflecting upward a part of reflected light from a reflector 16 is provided between the reflector 16 and a projection lens 12. This mirror member 18 has a structure movable in a direction of an optical-axis Ax, and a front end edge 18a1 of the upward reflecting surface 18a can be located in a reference position located at a in the rear side focus F of the projection lens 12 and a front moving position located in front of it by a prescribed distance. When it moves to the front moving position, a part of the reflected light from the reflector 16 passes a space on a rear side of the mirror member 18 and enters a lower area of the projection lens 12. Thereby, in the light distribution pattern for a low beam, a part of light irradiated to the lower part side of a cut-off line is allotted to the photo irradiation to the upper part side.
