PURPOSE: To configurate daisy chain even in a LAN system of 10Base-T by allowing a control station to transfer a packet via an HUB when a destination address of a received packet is not in an address storage table.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of transmission reception among terminal equipments B-D13-15 in daisy chain connection to a control station (terminal equipment A) 12, the control station 12 sends a packet to enable the packet transmission in the order of address storage table terminal equipments B-D. When the terminal equipment C sends a packet to the terminal equipment B while a network is started in the terminal equipment B, C and the terminal equipment D is not started, the terminal equipment B sends a packet representing 'no transmission data' to the terminal equipment A and the terminal equipment C returns a packet representing 'presence of transmission data' to the terminal equipment A. Moreover, even in the case of daisy chain connection, data transfer without collision is realized.
