Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic-stop collision avoidance type carrier wave sense multiplex access(CSMA/AA) controller to be applied to a radio local area network(LAN).
SOLUTION: Such a CSMA/AA controller 10 reduce the number of invalid states caused by collision conditions on a communication channel. This controller 10 performs hardware logic control to a function for which time is important. A hardware logic circuit stops a transmission procedure by detecting an event having possibility to be missed by a medium access control software layer and fault conditions under a CSMA reservation protocol. By reducing the burden of the function for which time is important, the performance of system is improved and fluctuation caused by overhead execution time related to a system CPU is reduced.
