To provide a method for treating the reclaimed waste, in which a treating-before-melting step can be performed in such a state that the moisture content of the reclaimed waste is reduced.
This method for treating the reclaimed waste comprises the treating-before-melting step A to dig the reclaimed waste and sort the dug waste into melting-suitable waste and melting-unsuitable waste and a melting step B to melt the melting-suitable waste sorted in the step A in a waste melting furnace 7. The step A comprises an adjusting agent adding step 1 to add a calcium compound-based basicity adjusting agent 11 to the reclaimed waste, a particle size-based sorting step 2 to remove the reclaimed waste having the particle size larger than the prescribed one as the melting-unsuitable waste from the agent 11-added reclaimed waste and a magnetic force-used sorting step 4 to remove metal being a melting-unsuitable object by the first magnetic force-used sorting apparatus 41 from the reclaimed waste from which the melting-unsuitable waste is removed at the step 2.
