Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lane marker recognition means using a sensor, and means for estimating the position of an own vehicle using the recognition means, the estimation means doing an estimation based on a lane marker which indicates lanes or the boundary between lanes since the relation between lanes and the position of an own vehicle is important in an own driving system.SOLUTION: The present invention according to one typical embodiment generates a trail of an own vehicle by output of an own vehicle information sensor, and generates a large lane marker map of regions around an own vehicle from information on a lane marker recognized by a sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
