PURPOSE: To supply laps from a silver lap machine to a ribbon lap machine efficiently, by using two endless conveyors capable of running in the forward and reverse directions provided one after another in the running direction of the conveyors.

CONSTITUTION: If laps 4W6 are fed to a ribbon lap machine (B) in the case (a) of both lap transferring and supplying conveyors (C1) and (C2) fully loaded with laps 1W12 as shown in (a), the lap supplying conveyor (C1) is run 3 pitches in the reverse direction as shown in (b), and both conveyors (C1) and (C2) are then run 3 pitches in the forward direction simultaneously to load the lap supplying conveyor (C2) fully with the laps 1W3 and 7W9 as shown in (c). The lap transferring conveyor (C1) is then run 2 pitches in the reverse direction to load the next position of the lap 12 with a new lap 13 from a silver lap machine (A) as shown in (d). The lap transferring conveyor (C1) is then run one pitch in the forward direction to load the next lap, and the operations are repeated to load the conveyors fully with the laps.
