The zoom lens varies power by moving the second and third lens groups G2 and G3 along an optical axis. The fourth lens group G4 includes, in order from the object side, a front group G4f of positive refractive power, an intermediate group G4m of negative refractive power, and a rear group G4r of positive refractive power. An imaging position is moved by making the intermediate group G4m substantially vertically eccentric to the optical axis, and predetermined conditions are satisfied.
