Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase a structural damping of a structure wherein a plurality of auxilary structural bodies are incorporated into a main structural body by concentrating input energy due to disturbances to the structure in the auxiliary structural bodies to enable the bodies to absorb the input energy.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary structural body 5 of multiple layers is disposed in each layer 4 of a main structural body 3 including beam frames 2 in multiple layers, the body 5 being erected on the frame 2, so that the bodies 5 are supported by the frames 2 wherein the bodies 5 are erected and the bodies 5 are connected to the upper frame 2. In at least one of the bodies 5, there are provided column members 6 comprising flexible members which resist horizontal external forces of set maximum magnitude in an elastic region, and column members 7 comprising rigid members which are deformed plastically against horizontal external forces.
