Abstract:
To solve the problem in which: a processing head interferes with a work-piece when the work-piece exists at a higher position in than a normal pass line.SOLUTION: A laser beam machine 10 comprises: a palette 50 on which a work-piece W is mounted; a processing head 30 which radiates a laser beam toward the work-piece W; a head drive mechanism 15 which moves the processing head 30; a sensor part 35 which detects the distance from a tip part of the processing head 30 to the work-piece W as a sensor distance; and a controller 100 which performs copying motion based on the sensor distance to keep the height of the tip part of the processing head 30 with respect to the work-piece to be a copying height defined in advance. The controller 100 makes the tip part of the processing head 30 approach the work-piece based on the sensor distance at a processing start point where laser processing of the work-piece W starts to set a reference value of the height of the processing head 30 for the start of the copying motion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
