Abstract:

PURPOSE: To work a comparatively large workpiece with high accuracy by constructing a carriage, which is movable on Y-axis, on a carriage movable on X-axis and mounting on the top carriage a laser machining head, which is movable on X-axis.
CONSTITUTION: A guide rail 3 in the direction of X-axis is installed on top of a supporting frame 1, and a carriage 7 is freely movable in the direction of X-axis by means of a servo motor 5. On this carriage 7, a guide rail 9 in the direction of Y-axis and a Y-axis carriage 11 are supported freely movably and driven by a servo motor 13 for positioning. Further, on this Y-axis carriage 11, the laser machining head 15, which is provided adjustably in the direction of Z-axis, is supported on an X-axis slider 17. In this case, the Y-axis carriage 11 and the X-axis slider 17, etc., are small and light in weight, and therefore, even if they are moved at high speed, a high accuracy in laser beam machining is maintained.
