Title:
LASER BEAM MACHINING METHOD AND ITS DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3761657
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive automation of a laser beam machine and to prevent danger such as inadvertent irradiation of a laser beam to the human body by automating adjustment between the center of a nozzle and the axial center of an irradiating light axis.
SOLUTION: This laser beam machine carries out the machining by converging a laser beam LB emitted from a laser generator by means of a condensing lens 13 equipped inside a laser machining head 9 and by emitting the laser beam to a work W from a nozzle 19 provided at the tip end of the machining head. The luminance of the laser beam axial center is detected by a sensor 27 constituted of a photoelectric conversion element provided in the machining head, with a comparison made between the luminance data thus detected and a set luminance at the time when the axial center of the laser beam is preliminarily in the center of the nozzle, so that a deviation is judged between the center of the nozzle 21 and the axial center 15 of the irradiating light axis. On the basis of this deviation data, the nozzle 19 is automatically moved and adjusted, without relying on the human judgment, by means of an actuator 23 in order to align the center of the nozzle 19 with the axial center position of the irradiating light axis.
