To obtain a laser diode module outputting laser beams having substantially identical cross-sectional intensity distribution and sprees angle in substantially identical directions from laser output points arranged two-dimensionally on a plane substantially orthogonal to the direction of laser emission in which a group of substantially parallel laser beans is produced and condensed into a thin line or a microdot.
The laser diode module comprises a first lens for correcting spread in the column direction (or row direction) of a group of laser beams outputted, respectively, from laser output points arranged two-dimensionally, and a second lens for correcting spread in the row direction (or column direction) where laser beams emitted from respective laser output points while having a spread angle produce a group of substantially parallel laser beans. The first and second lenses are formed, respectively, of a cylindrical lens. The lens has a constant cross-sectional shape in the row (or column) direction of the laser output point arrangement and the cross-sectional shape in the column (or row) direction repeats every column (or row) interval.
