To provide a welding equipment and its welding method capable of promoting a high welding performance, a simple equipment structure, an excellent operability and a reduction in costs or the like.
This equipment is provided with a laser beam irradiating means 70 having a laser beam machine 72 which oscillates short pulse-like laser beams 74 and an optical transmission system which focuses the laser beams 74 on a base material to be welded and irradiates the laser beams, an arc welding means 71 which makes incident a large current on a focusing spot of the laser beams 74 and which melts and welds a member to be welded, and a pulse current controller 89 which rises a current outputted from the arc welding means 71 as a long pulse wave which synchronizes with the laser beams outputted from the laser beam irradiating means 70.
