This laser ignition device 20 has a laser beam generating means 28 for emitting a laser beam by igniting the fuel particle 60 in a combustion chamber by irradiating and condensing the laser beam LB1 in the combustion chamber 50 of an internal combustion engine 2, and a condensing optical member 21 for guiding the emitted laser beam into the combustion chamber to be condensed in the combustion chamber, wherein the laser beam generating means is a low BPP laser beam generating means which emits the laser beam with a BPP value of no more than 20 mm * mrad (a radius * a half angle).
