This laser irradiation arc welding head 27 is provided with a welding torch body 4, a power feeding tip 5, a condensing lens optical system, and a laser arc nozzle 17 attached to the tip end of the welding torch body and having shape tapered along the power feeding tip and a laser beam. Then, the laser arc nozzle 17 is designed such that a laser beam introducing port 19 is installed for introducing a laser beam outputted from the condensing lens optical system, and that an air flow shut-off means 20 is provided at the laser beam introducing port, and jetting a shielding gas passed through the welding torch body and surrounding the power feeding tip. In addition, between the condensing lens optical system and the laser beam introducing port, a space is disposed for enabling the condensing lens optical system to be moved relative to the laser arc nozzle, thereby making the irradiation position of the laser beam adjustable to the arc generating part, and thus laser beam irradiation from the laser arc nozzle, welding wire feeding, and shielding gas jetting are carried out.
