Abstract:

To make obtainable a high power density and energy by an inexpensive method, make flexibly and acurately controllable a beam shape, and make controllable accurately beam positioning, and further make correctly controllable a beam output even when a laser output is high by improving a laser irradiation source material working device for processing a material, and an operation method of the material working device.

In order to obtain high power density and energy, a laser irradiation source (1) has a plurality of directly modulatable fiber lasers (2) of a diode pumping type, with an output terminal of the fiber laser bundled and arranged in one. The laser irradiation line emitted from the output terminal of the fiber laser (2) is collected and converged by an optical unit (8), so that the laser irradiation source hit one working spot (24) on a surface (81) to be worked.
